Write a ‘resume’ for your site.

• Tell them what your site has to offer
• Write several versions (25, 50, 100 word lengths) so that you can fit the limits for search engine submissions.

Submit your site description (resume) to as many search engines as you know:

• Google
• Alta Vista
• Yahoo
• AOL
• Hot Bot
• Lycos

Participate in online discussion and newsgroups that discuss your topics, specialties. Become known as a contributor in the interest community to help draw attention to you and your site, but avoid blatant self-promotion. Most groups treat it like SPAM and become hostile.

Include your URL in all e-mail, business cards and letterheads. Let them know you have a web site.
