These are typefaces with essentially one purpose -- to be impressive. I consider them to include formal scripts, including Blackletter, as well as other typefaces whose exaggerated proportions make them more stylish than legible.
Very tall or compressed types and scripts would also fit this category, because they are typically used when stylish sophistication is the image we are trying to project. These are the typefaces that might be called "classy" or "fashionable", but I chose to call them simply Elegant.
