Featured Faces

Whenever I get some new typefaces (or just get bored seeing the same ones on these web pages) I'll put up some new ones as samples from my collection. That way, if you're not someone who knows the names of different styles, or you don't spend your time browsing the web pages of type design companies, maybe this will help to inform you about the names of different styles that are available. I also like to credit the designers, because typeface design is truly an art, and many days, or weeks, go into creating these designs. I have also added the year the typeface was designed, because I think this helps show fashions and recurring trends over time.

(In case you're wondering, the reason for the choice of words in these settings is not that I'm food-obsessed, it's so that I can use somewhat familiar words to show off every lowercase letter at least twice, and every uppercase letter and numeral once. I considered doing it with fish genus names, but didn't think those would be familiar to most visitors here.)

I also am using a new "Trading Card" format to show other Featured Faces. I may decide to show all my samples that way. You can let me know what you think by clicking any e-mail link.

Just remember, I always have (many) more typefaces, I just can't show them all here at one time. If you see something you like in one of the STYLES, I can always send you more examples of that style.

Free "Mystery" Typeface Identification Service

If you ever see a "mystery" typeface used somewhere that you would like identified, just send me a sample (.gif or .jpg image), or send me the URL of a website that uses the typeface, and I will try to tell you the name of the typeface and where you can buy it. e-mail me your font ID question

I group my typefaces in five rather arbitrary Styles (just remember FACES):

Formal, Artistic, Casual, Elegant, and Strange.

Use the links above to see a selection of samples in that style.
